Dang it. Two single hex I7 systems vs one dual hexa SR-2 and a potential system to game on so as not to disturb the PPD/Science consuming deamon....

What drives this madness?! What will my next power bill be like with 2 c2q's with a 460 and one with a 480? I fear that. My systems run 24/7 anyway and my last DWP bill was quad digits (hellooooooo So. CA summers).

Now I sit here figuring on what path to take. One killer dual CPU system which, beyond folding, could be good to really have fun getting back into soft dev and Lightwave 3D? Or two systems with single hexa I7s. Either way, it breaks the bank, stimulates someone's economy and is good for science. Win win.... Decisions.

All I know is my c2q's are telling me, in a Scotty type voice, "I'm givin' ya all I got, Cap'n!" and folding by GPU can't be cheap on the power. :)

SR2 would be the highest scoring and most efficent route, both routes are gonna bring a heavy upfront price tag

I'd check on availabitlity of some cheaper hex's before making the call tho, those will be the most costly parts if you cant get them cheap

Since your power company already sends you a X-mas card, I'd say the SR-2 would be the way to go. It would save ya quite a bit on power.
