Compter wont start; need help

I press the power button and it doesn't start up at all: the fans, the heatsink, the harddrives, the videocard heatsink, nothing runs at all. However, the little green light on the mobo lights up.

Is the psu dead? I've had the same one since late 2001, when I built my computer. How long do they last? I've never cleaned or dusted the power supply; could that be it - too much dust?

I came back to my dorm room - I leave my pc on all the time - and it was just off. Could the power supply have broken anything like hardrives or mobo?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

If the PSU's fan does not start it is dead. Disconnect all devices from it except the mobo and try to power on.
MTBF is usually guaged to 80 000 hours to 100 000
