New review of an older unreleased engineering sample!
"In appearance of the printed circuit board, this engineering copy of the E8860 is far from the usual consumer graphics cards. As you can see, there are no video outputs on the rear panel - they are connected optionally through a splitter for three DVIs (or a test engineer can use the VGA connector). The power subsystem is excessively powerful. Judging by the two additional power connectors, it is ready to provide up to 300 watts of power with an Adelaar chipset TDP of just 37 watts. Finally, the board has a huge number of pins for connecting jumpers, and a number of LEDs indicate the status of the power subsystem and other components of the video card.
But the most pleasant moment is the full working capacity of this unique engineering version of the E8860. The video card allows you to install the driver for Embedded Radeon and pass the 3DMark tests. The Venus mobile chip has the same number of execution units as the desktop Cape Verde XT (Radeon HD 7770), but it has a significantly lower core frequency. Of course, this negatively affects performance, but for the embedded solutions segment the result is still decent."
