Been reading a little, but can't seem to find the answere.
Is the picture quality better with componet or standard 3 wire out from a DVD player to
the telly?

Component (the Red, blue, and green cables) are for HD programming, The composite (red, yellow, white) is standard definitition. I do believe that the component can handle standard definition though.

Roger that..I had a friend drop off a Samsung 27" flat screen and it has all the bells and whistles.
So are you saying that I can get a better picture with componet cables?

component is just as good as DIV. If you DVD player can up-scale, then you really want HDMI, DVI or at least component.

component is the best analog signal. color, quality, sharpness, everything is better with component.

The DVD player has Component outs and the ones with Red Yellow and White outs
The Samsung look like it can do anything..Never seen so many Outs and In's

My DVD player is nice but about 3 years old..Any suggestions on a upgrade..I just don't know that much about them...
