I feel like my computer isn't performing as well as it should. I downloaded in hopes that I could see if people with similar setups are getting what I get.

I see it's similar to a gaming laptop. To me this seems very weak. What's my best way of comparing my system performance to other similar systems?
 
The 6950 is what's holding back the "high end" side of your gaming rig. Most gaming laptop GPUs are more powerful than a 6950 these days.

With that being said, the best benchmark is real life usage. Go play some games and monitor the FPS. Then compare it to other systems.

Playing games is what led me to this. Primarily BF4. The only difficulty I see with this method is it would have to be very specific. For example, on one map I might get 30-55fps on average (low settings) where as on another I could get 100-140fps.

Basically I see a benchmark as fixing this issue because everyone is on the same page. It's logical that my GPU is holding me back because when I play it's at 98% load. My CPU is around ~88% but when my cooler arrives I will be OCing my 2500k to ~4.5ghz. All I would like to confirm is that everyone with my GPU is getting similar results. I just want to confirm that I'm not an excessive percent behind everyone else.
 
You should probably ask a mod to move this to the video card sub forum and see if others with similar setups will post their benchmarks as well.
