comp won't detect ide drives

just added a new fan controller for my Tornado (for obvious reasons), and now my comp won't get past the ide detection phase. tried removing the fan controller, and all the drives, nothing works. please help. quick!
 
You knocked something loose most likely, so check your cables and power connections.
 
ok, thanks. got it fixed, had to pretty much take everything apart and put it back together twice, still don't know what the problem was, but it's fixed and now i can hear myself think over the silenced tornado!
