The tool still has its purposes.
Your best bet is to utilize the correct tool in assessing your situations. Which is why Ice Czar and myself put together the stickies at the top of the forum (though people fail to read them). Using a PSU calc that actually gives the amp values is the proper way to sleuth out a problem as opposed to A Shot in the Dark........
