Comp restarts shortly after POST.

It varies, sometimes it restarts/straight just powers down (and then i have to unplug back of psu and plug it back in to get it to turn on again). It does it at random times, sometimes it even reaches windows before it restarts. I have tried a diff power supply (when I tried a diff. one without installing into case it seemed to work fine [350watt, compusa], then when i bought a new one and installed it restarts again), different ram, dif. vid card. It is NOT overheating, and I have reseated everything except processor. I have tried booting with just video and it sometimes works with no restarts, sometimes restarts. I'm at the point of mobo or proc. I am not overclocked, no sound card, onboard NIC.

Nothing was changed that caused this restart, i don't believe there is any short due to screws or standoffs etc. Any ideas would be appreciated. I also don't believe it is the switches going bad, i guess its possible.

thats exactly what i was thinking, oh well im in need of an upgrade soon on that pc anyways.
 
Yea, second on the caps idea. But are you still using a Compusa PSU to test it out?? If so, please try another brand. I have tried those and found 3 dead ones in a row at work. They are a POS!
 
Just picked up a brand new coolmax 450watt. No work. It's 12v is fine, I havn't checked caps yet, will be sure to do so. A couple months ago I replaced the bios chip, but its been working fine since. Until last week.
 
Ok, went ahead and reseated everything (proc hsf, mobo etc, even the bios chip). Still no worky. I checked that caps and they seem to be oozing/rusting a little bit. Looks like new mobo time.
