Comcast broadband boost my download speed from 1.8 megabits to 3 megabits for free. My upload remains the same though. Is this some kind of hoax?

They arn't going to raise you're upload, for most users the download is what is important, and being that by their TOS agreement you can't host any type of server anyway 256 is okay. 384 would make more sense in the 3-4mbit range I wish they offered 3/512 w/ static IP and ability to host servers for like $70-$80 a month..I would so be there

They started boosting speeds about 3 months ago and are finally advertising their service as 3/256.
