I've been Googling for a bit and can't seem to find an answer to this question.

Short and sweet, is it possible to power some cold cathode tubes with a regular rapid start florescent ballast?

From what I am reading it seems the answer is no, but I just had to throw it out to all you fine people for your opinions.
Thanks in advance for any input.

They have always been finnicky, I would just go with no, and replace any cold cathodes with LED

They are from an old 26" Samsung monitor that bit the dust. Not sure if it's the tubes themselves or the inverter board so I was thinking I could test the bulbs before anything else. I don't want to sink any money into it at all trying to diagnose either. I'm in no rush so if continued research doesn't help I might just plug one in outside and see what happens. The monitor already doesn't work and has been replaced so who cares really.

Thanks for your input ChRoNo16.
