Cold Cathode lighting for a bar...

I was planning on using some blue and red cold cathode lighting for a bar my roommate and I are going to build. I was wondering how big of a power supply I should get to run 12 or so cathodes. Also, would I have to have this power supply connected to a computer to get it to work properly, or could I just short out a couple wires to simulate the load of a motherboard?

I still might put the computer in there for party music, anyways

Gotta love a beer-supplying case mod :)

Hrmm size I dont know.
But in the faq there is a part where you can short (I THINK) the green and black pin to turn on a atx psu.

I think you should be able to power those ccfls off of a standard ac adapter though. I know it will have to be at 12 volts but I dont know how you can calculate the amout of amperage you will need in order to power that properly.

Go to radio shack and buy a $10 power pack commonly used for small electronic devices.

Just make sure it is 12V and get the highest mA rating they carry. Bring it home, cut off the little end, and connect it to the invertor for the CCFL lights.
