What do you guys think of this PSU brand? Mine has been running no problem for 2 years now, and a lot of people seem to like it. IMO it's a very good budget brand... and gets good reviews too! Besides the 12V fluctuating I don't see any problems! What do you guys think? :D
 
I've never seen a legitimate good review of a Codegen/Deer, that is a review where the PSU was subjected to its full rated load instead of just the usual 200W and the reviewer knew the difference between a resistor and a temperature sensor (actually happened) and didn't misuse a scope or concluded that memory errors were caused by the PSU (also both happened, at a wealthier website).

Why bother with junk brands when Fortron/Sparkle/Hi-Q/Powerman/PowerQ/Trend/ and Antec are so good and the former so cheap all the time and Antec often real cheap after rebate (300W + case for $5 after rebate last Friday)?
 
as normal I agree with larrymoencurly ;)
Id say that if employed carefully, with a good thermal solution for it, stable source power, and nowhere near the full rated load your chances of it blowing up you board will dramatically decrease

throw it a curveball however and it will fry components worth exponentially more that it is

also considering that its your HDDs and video card (if your running an auxillary power connector) that are employing that +12V rail, with no mobo voltage regulation modual as a buffer, that fluctuation is some cause for concern, best hope it doesnt exceed the 5% spec
