is there anyway to get my pci card to fit in the slots all the way?!? i've been through 3 mobo trays and too many emails to coolermaster's rma dept. my cards are in but the backs are not fully seated.

this is driving me nuts! a 200+ case should not have this bad of a fit issue. iam about ready to just rip the pci bracket off so i can get my cards to fit.


any working solutions?
 
can you explain with pictures why they aren't fitting? Or at least show us one that doesn't fit. A macro shot is preferable.
 
ya, pictures would help,

since as a Stacker 830 owner,
once with as much cards as 5
(Crossfire, tv tuner, sound card and software rhoebus)
put into it, I haven't had this problem...
 
my camera is lent out right now, so i cant get pics. sorry

the problem seems to be either the mobo isnt high enough to allow the cards end to seat all the way down in the back of the slot. the front of the cards fit fine. i thought of trying longer mobo risers, but that would screw up the i\o shields placement.

OR

the pci bracket on the mobo tray is buggered not allowing the cards to fully sit down into the slots.

i know iam not the only one with this problem many of the reviews and comments on this case around the net also mention this as this cases biggest problem and it seems coolermaster isn't going to own up and fix it anytime soon.

so i just wanted to find someone how has found a way to easily fix this. either through case modification's or installation tricks

I've seen couple 830 reviews, but none of them said anything
about this :confused: damn... well, I don't know what to say,
since I haven't heard or seen anyone else with a stacker 830
that has this problem...
 
I have had this problem and fixed it! Installing PCI devices are a pain for me.

Actually, its not the tray or anything, its just that the very bottom of the card's bracket.



Try over and over, bend it a little this way and that way.. and carefully you will be able to get it into that tiny slot. Not sure if all 830's are like this, but I know I had a hell of a time getting my 6600GT in there!

i have done this. its pretty much the only way to get anywhere near getting the card started into the slot.

my 8800 is in the slot, but the back end is still not fully seated into the slot. the metal connections are all the way in and it is working. it just needs to go down another 1mm to be in properly.

if you look from the tip of the card to the end you can see it is not in at the back.
 
I have this exact same problem on my 830 with EVERY PCI and PCI-E card I have installed.

If you look at the very bottom of the card's bracket you will see that there is a slight angle. This needs to be straight. I just took a little pair of pliers, made it straight and it fits right in..

The part I'm talking about is what's circled in the pictures..

Yeah thats pretty much what i mean, glad i'm not alone either :)
 
my problem is not getting the card into the slot. it's getting it in there straight and flat.

even when i do get my card into the slot, although it appears to be in right. if you look closely the back end of every card is still a good 1/2 to 1 mm out of the slot.
