Finished building the desk, Its a bit ghetto but all i had was a tablesaw and drill so

Hooking up my x-540 and trying to do some cable management
3 monitors, surround sound, wired keyboard/mouse, cablemodem and router, everything for the pc
and you thought case cable management was tough, right here Im about to kill myself

Stealthed out power strip nucka

Where I gave up, cables need a lot more work. youll notice I cant decide between portrait or landscape

So thats pretty much it as of today. besides dialing in my cable managment and messing with the speaker config Im pretty much done on everything but the actual pc, which I still have plans for
When I put my 2nd 5870 under water I plan on rerouting my loop like this
96bb83.jpg

still to come:
mdpc sleeving should be here soon
changing my watercooling: rerouting like I said above, ditching the xpsc res for an internal one above a T which should help improve my flow rate a ton, installing a fill port, Picking up some scythe GTs for the rads, and probably and aftermarket sound card

phew

so I ended up returning the monitors. The panels I had were TN to the absolute worst extent, the viewing angle was so bad that I could only position one monitor at a time to show a decent picture. Paid over $100 in return shipping and am not too happy. But I have an alienware 120hz on the way so its not all bad

alienware monitor? sounds plasticy and overpriced. i could be wrong though. :D i wish i had a neat-o mancave like that. i know what its like trying to hide that many wires though. what size is the new monitor? keep us updated.

Sweet cave, one thing you have to do though. Instead of placing your case sideways, put a hole in the wall and put it in there straight with the front bezel sticking out. Would be sweet :)

Those little baby zip ties holding your tubing to the barbs makes me nervous. I assume those are just temp but if not get some good clamps baby! looks good though. :)

Yeah alienware is definitely overprice. unfortunately the etailer I bought the (3) dell monitors off would only let me return for instore credit. and only sells dell. So I was able to get the alienware aw2310 for the same price I paid for the (3) original. $385 vs its normal $500mspr. :) unfortunately I spent around $100 in return shipping on the damn things so I only broke even :(

Clamps will be on soon the zipties were just temp til I redo my loop. and my 2nd 5870 block and a few other odds and ends arrived today so I should be changing some stuff shortly. I also got some mdpcx sleeving and thought id glitz and glam it up, but sleeving is HARD! anyways, updates to follow probably next week

I had bought a bunch of ramsinks since I could not find the 5870 unisink anywhere. Well they suck, barely even stuck to the card and didnt fit with 1/2" tubing. Looked kinna cool though

Here is my first attempt at sleeving! it turned out okay I think, Ive done all my fans and some other small wires. Only one pcie though, and havent messed with 24pin or 8pin yet.

Rotated the inlet plate on the apogee to allow for clamps to be used on the tubing, just makes things easier.

Toying with the tubing. I threw in a top fillport and then ended up taking it back out. It would work way better if I was using a normal res that wasnt part of the loop.

Pretty much where Im at right now. I need something better between the two 5870s. bent tubing isnt really cutting it. It was a pain in the ass to get crossfire running. I ended up having to reinstall windows and finally got to work, just to realize black ops is worse with crossfire enabled, awesome! more to come

in all its ghetto rigged splendor at the moment. cable management is non existent, and note the sweet anti kink hose clamps between the cards
dwudyq.jpg

my next task will probably be a custom wiring harness for everything but the pcie mobo and cpu, to clean up my atrocious back panel mess

Haha, that's crazy because it really is a man cave all small and cramped. Good work though!
