So we've got an exec who does not want to install a fresh OS but wants more HD space and he's out of room. One of the techs had the idea of cloning the SSD to a larger one but the exec wants a timeframe.

What's a fair estimate going from a full 240GB drive cloning to a 750GB SSD Sata 6gb?

Both are samsung drives

If the tech is familiar with the process, it shouldn't take more than a couple hours, basically just waiting for the data to write. I've never done it myself though because from past HDD cloning experiences and what I've read online, a cloned migration to a new SSD is very likely to suffer from strange OS corruption problems that, if annoying enough, will warrant a clean install anyways.

About 1 hour is my guess, based on experience. Use Paragon Migrate OS to SSD. It's very fast. Doesn't matter if it's to or from hdd or ssd. It is very reliable, handles any concerns about alignment automatically.
