Hello!

Will a PASSIVE [mini display port to DVI adapter] cause my video card to work harder? (Radeon 6770m).

Here's the adapter to which I'm referring: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5106&seq=1&format=2

Here's the rundown:
From what I understand, every video card has two Clock Signal Generators. Are those clock signal generators always running, or do they only activate when needed? Would activating the clock signal generator slow down the video card, or make it work harder?
If one is using an ACTIVE [mini display port to DVI adapter], the adapter itself generates the DVI clock signal.
If one is using a PASSIVE [mini display port to DVI adapter], the video card has to generate the DVI clock signal.

Currently I have a passive adapter. I need to know if using a passive adapter will be an extra load on my video card.

Thanks!
