I used it setting up Ghost files to execute from desktop.
That way, I set the FSB in the bios of the MB, then use Clockgen to change the multiplier. If the machine hangs, it comes back on the reboot.
Before I used Clockgen, I upped my multiplier, my system hang, then wouldn't boot. I had to reset my Cmos which was a pain in the arse. No more of that, use Clockgen and set up those Ghost icons.
If your mobo has an agp/pci lock, engage it in the bios by settings your htt/fsb to 201 to 199, or 1 mhz off whatever your default clock is. this will disable spread spectrum, as well as lock your agp clock. one way to check whether or not your freqs are locked is to hit get values in clockgen, change the freq, set them, then **hit get values again**
I have to stress this point - while I was overclocking a sempron 3100+ on a vnf3-250, i told clockgen to increase my fsb and it worked fine. multipliers, eh, not so fine. Anyway, I'd set a freq and it'd tell me it adjusted all the freqs accordingly. Until I started seeing video artifacts and getting hardlocks, I thought I just got a really shitty chip. Researched a bit online and found my agp lock wasn't engaging - I may have set my agp freq to 80+, 90+ at times and burned out my video card, I'm praying I haven't, though...
