Yeah, I got a DLT3C 1700+ and when I bring it up to 2200+ speed, thats as far as it will go, If I go to the next multiplier itt drops to 700Mhz., and then overclocks from there (next is 733, so on.) Is there a reason why it does this? are the multipliers locked above a certain range?

Let me guess , you can only hit 12.5 multipliser and when you try 13 it is when it drops down right?

Higher multipliers are mapped onto low multipliers based on the 5th L3(?) bridge being closed (or open, I don't remember which... ...the opposite of however it is on your processor, at least).

Ant this all tells me what? Yes it is the 13th multipier. Thanks for some input, but what does it mean? are you saying that yes, the multipliers are in fact locked above a certain level? do I need to unlock it to get it to go higher? Sorry, but Im just not to great with CPUs.

well if you can adjust it it's already unlocked...what you need is to take it out and look at the state of that last L3 or whatever it is...if it's open you need to close it as if you were unlocking an older palomino by filling the pit and painting the bridge shut...if it's closed you need to cut the bridge...thsi can be done with a very sharp razor or exacto-knife...but don't push too far...that'd be very bad...

You'd be better off going with a lower multiplier/higher FSB anyway... if it matters

unless you are using SDRAM or have crappy memory, i'd really recommend keeping the multiplier LOW and then bumping up the FSB. That'd give you the most memory bandwidth, which is what i'd be vying for anyways.

At 13 the L4's change to accomodate the higher multipliers

You can see the change here

Just click on the 12.5 multiplier and scroll around 'til you see the L4's change... That's the mod you need to do. But you'll have to cut the bridges and fill in some pits. Since i'm assuming you dont really want to mod your chip, go to the top of the page and scroll down on that little bar to 'pinmod' guide... it's a little more of a hassle, but you dont have to mod your chip. FWIW, good luck.
