Ok I have a 2500+ and a A7N8X and it has never really overclocked becuase of the motherboard (11.5/185) and its now getting old and slow.

So I am going to get new stuff soon but I want to clear up a few things. I would get:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (maybe 3500+) Venice 90nm (Socket 939)
DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D (Socket 939)
OcUK ATI Radeon X800 XT 256MB DDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express)

and use my current Corsair 3200 (one 512 XL stick and 2x256 LL)
and PSU Thermaltake Butterfly 480W.

I have read some stuff about corsair 3200 and the Ultra D not getting along, how much water does this hold?

Is the PSU ok (20-24pin connection needed?)

and how does the PSU connect to the x800xt? by looking at it I think there are two connecters, one looks like a floppy drive power connecter and some other 6 pin one.

You never specified what PSU you have?

As for the PCI-Express x800 XT, the six connector, probablly black, is the PCI-E power connector found on newer PSUs. Do not worry though most cards are bundled with a molex to PCI-E adapter.

For the RAM, I am unaware of any specific issues, but I do believe that the 939 chipsets though support Dual Channel RAM, so your RAM situation is a puzzling one. As I can understand not wanting to part with the LL series of RAM.

Note: If you would like to donate your 2500+/A7N8X bundle to me, let me know!

Ultima, he has the Thermaltake Butterfly 480W. I can't vouch for its performance though.

I would have to say that using your current configuration (three sticks) might not be the best optimal condition for the system. Stick with two at a time. But you never know if it actually works fine with three. It really varies.

Your PSU would need a 24 pin connector adapter if it has only 20 pin now. I believe your PSU may have an extra connector for the X800 but if it doesn't, you just might as well upgrade it to the latest. It's all for the better though because there are more safer and stronger PSU's than the one you have now.

Hmm decisions decisions, I will probably get new RAM and a new PSU as long as I can sell what I have, I suppose I have to see how things pan out. Probably sell the two sticks of 3200 LL and keep the 3200XL.

Just buy them all first. Test them out with your RAM and PSU's. See if it's worth the cost to buy the replacement RAM / PSU.
