Sorry guys if this is the wrong area to posit a question on browsers, but I'm having a problem with Chrome.

Been using it for a month or so now, and as of last night it stopped loading certain webpages, specifically Newegg and netflix. Googling it found out that Chrome uses the same settings as IE which would explain why I can't connect with that either, so I decided to go back to Firefox but I can't load that page either.

I double checked my network settings, specifically the LAN settings and everything looks kosher in there. I ran a virus and malware scan which came up clean, so I'm at a loss. Anything I may be missing?

I'm using Win7 professional 64bit btw.

Have you checked your hosts file?

it should read like so:
Code:
# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
#	127.0.0.1 localhost
#	::1             localhost
it's located in [Drive letter]:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
the "hosts" file is the one you want to look at. You should be able to open it with notepad to view it. If it's untouched it should look exactly as you see above.

Does anything else work like IE or Firefox?

same thing happens with IE and Opera.

Here is my hosts file.

Identical to the one you posted.

edit.

So played around with this a bit more and noticed that if I turned my windows firewall off, things started working again. If I turned it on they stopped. I couldn't find any reason as to why windows firewall was blocking sites like newegg, netflix, mozilla, and a few others, so I reset the options and now everything works fine again.
