I have a 3200 chipset on my 939 mobo and was wonder what operates and the performace bumps on a crossfire rig.

Well, that kind of all depends on whether you are running a S939 3000+ or an FX-62, or something in the middle...single or dual core. Also, takes into account what your video card is right now, and if it is crossfire capable? The board will not make much of a difference, other than to allow you to run crossfire on it. Here's what you'd need to give us in order to find out what you'd be looking at for ROI in frames:
Your CPU
Your type/amount of RAM
Your HDD
Your soundcard
Your current GFX card
The games you play
assume Winxp 32bit home or pro (if not, then put your OS here)
If you have a 1900xt, and are looking to add the mastercard, add that in there. If you're not up for this task, your general FPS in most games that can effectively utilize Crossfire's AFR rendering...you'll be looking at 20-40% on average (depending on your cards).

Your soundcard-------------------- some sound blaster live card
Your current GFX card--------------- 1600XT a freind might sell his for dirt cheap
The games you play CS:S, oblivion, DOD:S, CS.1.6, dark massiah

I'd say with the x1600xt, you'll be looking at (from a current single card config), somewhere around 15-20FPS jump from your current setup. Of course, this is all dependant upon what res/options you like to game on. I take a FPS hit because I just turn everything all the way the hell up, in every game. If it runs slower than I care for, I drop it down a bit. an x1600xt likely cannot handle that, unless you're running at 1024x768, maybe 1280x1024. I've not owned one of those. Maybe someone with that card, whose done that upgrade can chime in with more accurate results.
