Chip Change = Reformat?

I'm planning on changing the chip in one of my machines and was wondering if I'd have to reformat. I will be going from a X2 3800 to a X2 4200 - both of which are S. 939. Just trying to avoid the work.

Shouldn't have to reinstall/reformat if you are just upgrading CPUs from X2 to X2.
