Childish Sapphire Tech Support Behaviour

GreenGecko reminds me of another "soup Nazi" way back when. Anyone remember Angry Games?

yep, good old "unofficial" DFI support forums....

Oh, please. That homo Brian S at the nvidia forums was banning people left and right (me included) when nvidia was releasing and not releasing their shitty vista drivers back in early '07 and we were all complaining about it. That guy was a turd about it and if you weren't nose deep in nvidia's jock then he was banning you for it. I don't recall anyone starting all these whine threads about those travesties of justice. Give me a break. This clown no doubt is just like that douchebag Brian S. and is some turd who manages the forums. He doesn't work for Sapphire. Let's keep that in mind when basing the support of an entire company on one jackass who mans the forums and who is probably not even an employee. In my experience nvidia and their distributors have much worse support and drivers than anything that ati has.

i think this is the first we have heard of this...i know it is a first for me, if i had been involved or it had been brought to my attention i would have said the same exact thing though.....

in all of these examples though we have a "unofficial" support forum board with a total jackass running the place, but this "unofficial" title is not an excuse for letting your companies name get drug though the mud now is it?

you see what happened to the DFIStreet forums dont you, it was disbanded and angry had to start his own under a different name

Actually, I do remember a goodly number of whine thread about exactly that. It's appalling when anyone treats their customers like that, but seeing as this thread was about the Sapphire forums specifically, that was not germane to the discussion.

He didin't reform because they told him to stop being a dick to customers. He got into a huge argument with DFI though (For some reason I can't remember what it was now) that caused DFI to cut partnership with him and he ended up with DYI-Street. That in term has merged with overclockersclub now

I'm not defending Angry_Games btw. He was actually pretty rude to me personally a few times as well. The guy DID for the most part know his shit though, and he tamed down abit towards the end. DFI-Street was the official "unofficial" site for DFI support, as we all knew DFI had contact with Angry_Games. This Sapphire stuff is really weird though. Their own site links to the forums of which they consider "unofficial" and have rampant idiots running the show there. Not sure whats going on, but it is a clear reflection of the poor CS they have all-around, so it's not THAT shocking.

Nvidia does the same thing. Their own website links to the 'nvidia forums' website and those clowns running that place are not employees and a few of them are total jackasses. I still have a bad taste in my mouth about that nvidia vista driver fiasco. It took those guys a good 6 months to deliver drivers that halfway worked, and even then many, MANY people were still getting that driver stopped responding crap in vista for no apparent reason. Nvidia really got on my bad side at that time. People bust ati's balls all the time for bad drivers but ever since nvidia outsourced their driver development their drivers have royally sucked. Ati's drivers have always been their weak link but at least they are better over the past 2 or 3 years. Nvidia needs some time in the corner to think about their shenanigans and I'm glad that ati has put out a good product for a change to cause this to happen.

The primary reason I upgraded from my GTS640 to this 4870 is Nvidia's driver issues under Vista64. Their bullshit response to the issue did NOT help: "It is your memory/psu/mobo/everything-but-nvidia." Well, balls to that. The 640 is still stable as a rock under XP and the 4870 hasn't crashed yet after being plugged into the exact same Vista install.

i havent been having any issues with two 8800GTS 320's in SLI under Vista 64......what are you guys doing?

when vista first came out, many vendors didn't have their shit together in terms of drivers, that has changed now. Nvidia was one of those vendors. It's part of the reason vista has a bad reputation.

oh its not just him its the whole admin staff now... they used to give you custom bios with modified OC. As long as you give them info P/N etc (agree to terms that u can't RMA it). Short after that they just gave them out freely, that's when s**t happened and ppl Bricked their cards and acted like tools. They don't do that no more ... and get very Ban happy and Kick happy of any modified Bios mentioned on their forum. BC ppls send those cards with new bios in for RMA.

Sapphire customer service = the worst. Any digging should show no end of thread supporting this conclusion. Don't buy from them! I could write a laundry list of horrible behavior I have personally experienced but as I said it's in a bunch of other threads already. Just do yourself a favor and stay the heck away from Sapphire cards.
