I have a problem with CS:S on certain parts it has a checkerboard effect, now it doesnt hurt game play, but it is annoying. I havn't had it happen in any other game, so I think it is source, but has anyone else had this problem and how do you fix it. Here are two spots where it happens:

On this screen it only happens if the server has a scrollbar.

I have seen it a few times in CS:S I think its jsut like the guy said above, a missing texture. I have seen it in the same places you do. And everyone has it too. Maybe some of the files are still encryped that its trying to access... who know. Doesnt affect anything at all, only thing is you get to see some pretty pink once in a while lol.
 
That's a Source specific problem. I sometimes get that exact same pink/black checker board effect too when changing video settings. (both on a 9700Pro and a GF4 Ti4200) So you shouldn't worry too much.
