'yea I can see that being a bit handy over having your tape deck or boom box sitting next to your PC on the desk hooked up the the line it connection of your sound card. Although I'd also have a hard time justifying the cost considering the fact that I already own a boom box and a PC with a line it connection! I've done quite a few tape-to-digital conversions for media that just can't be obtained commercially anymore. The quality isn't that bad actually. I didn't even use a super-high quality analog-to-digital sound card or anything...

Neat find... Useless to most people but neat none-the-less. If someone found a broken one for cheap I could see it being used in some pretty cool retro-mods.

Now we just need an 8track reader.. Might as well mount a turntable to the top of the pc while you are at it. :)

I personaly think this is a waste of time and money. I mean seriously who wants to fill up a bay with an outdated piece of hardware. If you have 150 dollars to spend on a inpc tape deck, you can afford an indash cd player.

JEEVES

It'd be cool to have if I had the money to burn. I have a Milli Vanilli cassette I've been wanting to turn into a CD to torture people at work with.

that would ahve come in handy back in the early 80's when i was in highschool and tapes were the only medium other than records....

but these days.. that would be a waste of money....

Um, not really, since you wouldn't have had a PC to interface with back then.
