What configuration do you think would be the cheapest PC, but still not a POS? Like in the $200-400 range. If all the comp. was going to be used for would be MS office and internet. Like a mobo w/ onboard vid, lan, and sound, amd cpu, probably 512 MB ram, 40-80 GB hd, also what case/PS?
Dont include OS, Monitor, Keyboard, and speakers.
The cheapest I've done so far was $450 about a year ago. Athlon XP 1800, gf4 Mx 4400, 512 MB DDR Kingston, asus X motherboard, and um.. i think that was it. I can't remember what case/PS I used.. but it was one of those combo deals. I know I could get cheaper than this, I wasn't going for DIRT cheap on this one.
I just want to know because there's some teacher that always wants me to fix her pentium cpu that has a 6 gig hd, and not much else. I got to thinking that she could have probably bought a whole new comp. for what she pays in repairs. :\
