Cheap Video Card?

My brother has a Geforce 2 mx400, I think it's time for an upgrade. He doesn't have a lot of money, I was wondering would a Radion 9200Se be any better. I heard 9200SE sucks but you can't beat 43$. So should he get the 9200Se or stick with what he's got? (or do you have any other suggestions around 50$ )

No dont get one. I have a 9200se and it isnt that great. It was a bargain at first but then you realize that it was a gamble than bargain. If i were your friend I would save up money

He is only 11 and gets like 8 bucks a week, but you don't think it's an better than a geforce 2? It has twice as much ram...

That's how it sells. Plenty of people think, a 256MB Radeon 9200SE is better than a 64MB Ti4200 (or something along those lines). Amount of memory does not matter as much as clockspeeds and memory buses. The 9200SE has a 64-bit memory bus, which effectively cripples it.

Have you considered used video cards?

Try to find some Geforce 3 or Geforce 2 Ultra\GTS


They are soooooo much faster than any 5200 \ 9200 cards (don't take those just because they are new and cheap...They suck !!)
