Cheap Surround sound

I was at wal mart, and i know they carry a set of logitech surround sound speakers(x530). so i picked them up for shits and giggles because im looking at setting up a small home thearter so my gf can have little movie nights with her friends. Well they sucked, i can bairly here the rear channels because they're washed out by the front. So they will be returned later tonight.

did you ensure the surround fader was turned up, and that your source is actually providing a 5.1 signal?
 
Yeah, i tested it with l4d and a dvd, and the controls for the 5.1 sucked so i returned it and picked up a blu ray player(lite on iHES208-09 2)
