ok.. i decided to resurrect a duron 750 that i have... and to get it out of the crappy case with the vertical psu, i had to take out the psu, and to get that out take off the heatsink...

the heatsink has a 60mm fan.. adn the blades are tiny, it is real deep though.. the heatsink is as cheap as you can get, plain aluminum and fins.. from what i am remembering, the fan on that heatsink was pretty damn loud.. but i just didn't care back then.. i turned my computer off when i wasn't using it becasue we had dial up..

so.. since i have the heatsink off.. i am wondering if there is soemthing that is real chaep, ,but more effective out there.. $7 copper speeze or soemthing.. i haven't checkd yet.. i am sure it won't be from newegg caused i don't feel like paying $5 shipping on a cheap heatsink... or should i lap the one i have now, and make some kind of wierd bracket so i can mount an 80mm fan to it? probably bend the fins outward too so the bigger fan actually blows over them?

i will get pictures of it.. bu tnot for a few days cause i am moving tomorrow.. all my stuff is in the car ready to go..
 
If you can spare ~$10 I'm sure someone in the for sale/trade forum would have something you're looking for.

Why do you need a 80mm fan?
