Changing HDD letters

Not easiliy no. Windows doesn't like/won't let you change the system drive letter.
 
you can change drive letters in disk management utility [control panel>administrative tools>computer management>storage>disk management]. I'm not shure about system partition though...
 
If its a new install then its probably easier to just reformat & reinstall.
When you format just check its come up as the C: drive.

You cannot change either the boot drive or system drive letter from within disk management.

There are work arounds but there is always a risk of somethig not working due to a registry entry still pointing to the old drive letter.

Why bother changing it?

Windows doesn't care what your boot drive letter is, and nethier should any programs unless they are hardcoded to C: (which is rare these days...) Its completely cosmetic.

You can change the letter using a registry workaround from Microsoft, however it won't fix any programs you already have installed and will break most if not all of your shortcuts. And it will also break most uninstaller scripts since they store the install path directly instead of using system varibles.

If you are hell bent on changing it, then its best to just reinstall windows. Make sure any memory card readers or other hardrives are disconnected during this. Otherwise the same thing will happen again.
