I think there should be a cell phone section, and no i dont think cell phones belong in the mobile computing section

True this, when we started Mobile Computing cell phones were just coming into their own and thought that they would move more into the realm of mobile computing....which really never took off. When the 'Gadgets' forum was created, cell phones just kinda migrated there. :)

i think Mobile Computing fits just fine, my phone is capable of doing anything a mobile PC can do other than gaming of course......and it runs Windows Mobile which is completely customizable right down to editing the registry, adding memory, installing/removing programs, using WMP, Excel, Word, Adobe PDF's, PPT presentation files, IE, etc..etc..etc...

go to modoaco.com and browse through the modaco forums and see how much software and custom freeware, etc....is available for Smartphones for instance, heck, i can even overclock my phone and have with great success...

i think there should be a subforum section for Smartphones and PDA's in Mobile Computing, and then a Cell Phone subforum in the Computers and Gadgets section, because there is a very big difference between a cell phone and a Smartphone

i agree that could work

But not all phones are smartphones. In fact, I know very few people who own smartphones, and the ones that do own them because their company requires them to be chained to their email (my dad, for instance).
