I have a Celeron D 320 (2.4GHz) and lately my temps have been going up a lot more well playing games than they used to, and the fan intel fan RPM have also been going up as well. I used AS3 on this chip awhile back after I got the thermal pad off. Any ideas as to why my temps are going up, and what I should do about it?

EDIT: Temps used to be like, 34, 2600rpm idle and mid 40s, 3000-3500rpm after gaming. Now it's like, 42, ~2800rpm idle and low 50s, ~4000rpm after gaming.
 
It's possible that dust has built up inside the heatsink, and on the fan. Basically, the hotter it gets down there, the fan will automatically speed up to compensate...so if there's dust build up in there, you should get a can of air and start sprayin' away! :) Also, the stuff you used to replace the thermal pad might have been put on wrong....try dusting first, and if it doesn't work, try re-seating the heatsink.

Hmm, that might be it, I'll check for dust then.

And I ment to type AS (arctic silver), heh. I'mp retty sure I put it on right, just put a glob in the center and then mount the heatsink like the site says to.
 
Oh, ok....I wanted to ask what you meant, but I didn't wanna offend you or anything...real careful of that now, all these crazy people 'round here! Yeah, good chance it's dust....I dust VERY often, probably more than I should, but it'll pay off when my computer is still going and going and going...........................................heh heh, yeah, try the dusting though!
