Celeron 440 for HTPC

I am going to be throwing together an HTPC early in the new year and in my search the Celeron 440 with its 35W is a very appealing CPU. However in my searching I cant find any useful benchmarks for how it would fair in an HTPC, all I am finding are canned PCMark benchmarks and overclocking results. It seems like a mighty overclocker but that would begin to defeat the purpose (perhaps OCing until voltage bump is required is a possibility). Does anyone have one of these or know if it would be up to the task of HD playback?

Any board recommendations would be nice too, I have not built an intel system in several years so there is alot of catching up to do :eek:
 
Pair it up with a GeForce 9300 (730i) chipset and it should be fine, under most circumstances. I'd still look at a cheap duallie, just to get rid of that "should."

I plan on pairing it up with a HD4550 or 9500GT if I were to go for it.

I should also add that I am going to be using the build as a file server and download machine too, so it will be running 24/7 which is why I am interested in the low wattage.
 
I'm talking MPEG hardware decoder.. Hauppauge has made some good stuff. I've used the pvr-250, 350. Also messed with a hd2000 (HI - DEF)software decoder, all under linux. MythTV stuff. Basically use it for a file drop (AVI's) playback with Mythvideo as a front end and playback through xine. Have used a celery 266, 366, ect. with these encoder/decoders. Works well. Bought a Gigabyte GeForce 6600 with the solid heat sink - no fan, years back.
