CDR and Xcopy

Hey all I got a good deal on a DVD burner and took the plunge. My question is pretty simple, but since i dont have it yet im asking to make sure what i will need.

Xcopy comes with it and the burner can burn CDRs at 16x, my question is will Xcopy software allow me to burn both DVD and CDR? Or will I need another program to just burn CDRs?
