CCNA: Whats the best Software to Study with

I don't just want to cram this stuff in my head, but I want to learn without having to spend $$$ on a lab and equipment. I like Packet tracer 5.0, but I need labs to help guide my learning. What would you guys recommend?
 
Cisco ConfigMaker as well as LabSim can be useful to complete parts of the CCNA but really, having a couple of routers and switches, serial (DCE\DTE type), ethernet and rollover cables is really the best.
 
hum... this stuff is not cheap and I really don't have the room to setup this lab the way I want to. ;)
