CCFL inverter question

I have an inverter that supports two cathodes. Is it safe to use a 12" and a 6" on the same inverter, or do I need to use different cathodes for different lenghths?
 
I'd tentatively say it's okay. Still, you should contact the retailer or manufacturer just to be sure.

Inverters can be pretty dangerous components, because of the high voltages involved. Improper use can lead to flying, hot projectiles and danger of fire.
 
Yeah, I had one today go POP POP and shoot some nice sparks out, followed with the lovely smell of burning electronics.
 
I would try it, probably the worst thing that will happen is you'll blow the inverter. I blew one, it started smelling, so I shut off the system, pulled it out and replaced it. Powered everything back up, and everything was fine. Inverters are the weak link in a CCL setup. Some of them are POS.
