I have two MSI HD 6970 Lightning cards in CF. I have three monitors and a TV connected. My main display is a 24" 2407WFP 1920x1200. To the right I have a Dell U2311H in 1080x1920 portrait mode. To the left I have a Dell 2211h in 1920x1080 and across the room I have a 58" Plasma in 1920x1080 using HDMI.
Here is the issue. When using all the displays the main card idles at 500MHz/1375Mhz. The other card with no monitors connected idles at 250MHz/150MHz. The main card idles in the 49-51C range and the other card idles in the 35-37C range. If I go into CCC and manually disable all of my displays expect the 24" 2407WFP the main card will also idle at 250MHz/150MHz and idle in the 37-39C range. Also with all displays enabled my card draws about 60W more power when compared to a single display in use.
What I would like to do is configure hotkeys to enable all monitors and disable all monitors except the 2407WFP. So for example CTRL+ALT+1 is only the 2407WFP and CTRL+ALT+2 will enable all displays. A third option would be nice too CTRL+ALT+3 being all monitors but not the 58" TV.
This way I can conserve power and run a single monitor when I'm away from my PC. When I want to enable the monitors I can easily do so instead of taking the time to do it manually.
I'm not sure if this is possible but I figured if it was someone here would be able to help. I'm not certain if running a single display in portrait and all others in landscape makes it more difficult or not.
So there you have it, please help.
