hello.

im going to mod my case up, its this generic black case and i wanted to remove all teh black paint down to its bare metal, but i dont have any sandpaper or paint remover.

what can i do to remove the paint? can i just stick it in some really really hot water for a while?

Buy some sandpaper or pay to get it sand-blasted. Hot water isn't going to do squat.

As shipped from the factory, cases are often powder-coated, not painted, so paint-stripper may not work.

190proof Everclear?
Hot water won't work, its not spaghetti stained.
You'll probably have to get down and dirty with that sandpaper or paint stripper. Some disassembly might be in order if you want to get it just right. If you plan on leaving it to "bare metal" at least spray some clear coat on it to keep rust away.

i used aircraft paint stripper and it didnt take all the paint off of my koolance, just the upper coats. If your serious about doing this, go with a sand/bead blast.

I use a mixture of 190 ec(everclear) and some citrus paint stripper and it removed 3/4th the paint on this case i have little bit of sanding finished it off. beware you need to use those thick yellow rubber gloves because it eats the thin ones.

Make sure to support side panels....a beadblast cabinet can distort them...
