Social engineering what? I don't know how he went about it, but it's a farily easy guess to make based on your handle alone. Obviously your first name is Tyler, unless you just like roleplaying random make believe people. And then there's that S that follows your name, Tylers wouldn't make a good first name for a child, but Tyler with the last name Smith would. Smith just being a common last name, would have been a common guess. Probably just took a chance on that. And then the 89 kinda gives the birth year as well as it's to close to current times to be a random number. Just a guess.

As far as Smith goes, a directory in the path in the original link was TSMITH.

I don't doubt it though.
IT people are usually pretty good about it.

but the people i support are terrible about it. First names, last names, yellow post-it's with it written down, all stuff i have found.

Unless it is forced on them, people will choose the simplest thing possible, regardless of the importance of security.

Well, I go simple, but I go obscure also. I meen, my own mother/best friend/girlfriend couldn't guess my passwords cause it's something that is that personal to me and just not known to anyone else. Like if some one was to use thier shoe size or something. Simple and effective. I don't doubt the the masses use easy to figure out stuff, but money, god, sex? I couldn't imagine why anyone would consider those ones.

at one time I had to know apx 35 logins including username and passwords for different servers I had to access...talk about a pain in the neck...at work since it is a work computer I don't care what I use for passwords since the only people that have access have to card into the building

Hmmm I think I know how he figured it out.... lemme see here... the kid tried to upload an image from his My Documents fodler on his HARD DRIVE. And since Win 2K/XP keeps users' folders' separated, the user name's my documents folder is put in a clearly marked subdirectory like his:

Not to poke fun Tyler, but I had to have a good chuckle over this one... Too funy... Anyways, glad to help you on your original question but you are going to have to give us something more along the lines of what your very own computer actually looks like so we can assist... Your questions seem a little to general. Trying being more specific, what colors and things are you looking for. Theme? Utilitarian changes? Quiter? Cooler? Brighter? Lighter?

Yea....Well i'll hafta take pictures with my brother digital tonight....But i was going for the more neon...more clean...with wire managements helping tha clean look....i'm goin to paint the dvd-rom..the dvd burner...that i have in it...i think a purple glossy color to match tha color of the front of the case....I was thinking of an exhaust idea to blow tha hot air OUT of my room....becuase it gets EXTREMELY hot in there....And i wanted to quit down tha fans and everything....I have a 6 channel fan controller...but when i hooked the fans up tp it...it didn't work/....like tha light came on and it recognized the fans....but it didn''t slow or speed up the case fans any....thank You....if have ne ideas...just lay um out...Preciate it ...Tyler

Was the fan controller getting power? Meaning, does it have a 4-pin molex connected to it?

What kind of options do you have for venting the hot air out of your room? Will your folks let you cut a hole in the wall? Is your computer near a window? You could vent the hot computer air right out of the window and as long as you have a fan that constantly blows out you don't need to worry too much about condensation.

Yes..My computer is right in front of a window in my room..And on tha PS question. Thats why i bought my own 500 watt...neon blue PS with its own built in fan controller. But just hint me some exhaust ideas or any wire management ideas!!

Yes it is gettting power..it has a 4 pin power...and tha lights com'on but tha fans don't change speed whenever i turn the knob....Heres a picture and specs of my fan controller..... ....Also The lights come up sayin it has power and that fans are hooked up to it...But well hell idk!..Hopefully you guys can help me.

ok start off with just one fan... try connecting it to the switch to see if it works.

make sure you have the 4 pin molex from your power supply connected to the board. Try connecting a fan to the switch first to see if it works then move it to the knob. Make sure the molex connector from your psu does indeed have power by checking it with a fan or other device.

take pictures of how you have it hooked up and post it.

Yes...I have tha 4 pin power hooked to it...when us ay do i have it hooked to the mother board..what exactly do u mean..like mother board or what?
