what do u think i should set my casefan speeds to?
in bios i can set it so if the case temp is at a certain *C the fans will go to a certain speed. right now i have them at a constant 100%.

noise doesnt bother me.

1 thing to note is that i removed the hd bay next to the top rear fan and psu.
do u think the rear fan will interfere with the psu fan?
 
If noise doesn't bother you I don't see the reason why you wouldn't want them full speed all the time unless to conserve power which I doubt is that much. And the psu will be fine.
 
If you have it set to spin fast only when its a certain temp (loaded) then it might be saving yourself some energy when it is just idle. I don't think this would make that big of a difference though...anyone?
 
what do u mean by saving energy?
and what temps and speeds should i set it to.
 
By saving energy, they mean keeping the Earth green, keeping water clean, stuff like that. Cutting down on the amount of energy your computer draws from the wall, which I guess could also save you $.

yes, but not to a great extent. you are using more energy, but the difference between running a fan at 7v vs. 12v is minimal compared to something like folding on an overclocked netburst 24/7 vs. using a conroe.
 
my comp is not on 24/7.
im on maybe 9-10 hours on weekends, maybe 6 on weekdays.

how much more will this raise my electrical bill? and will running at 100% shorten my psu lifespan?
 
I doubt that having your fans full speed all the time would make that much of a difference if at all in your electrical bill, and no that's what they were intended to do.
 
Without going through some major math and knowing what you may per KW/hour who knows how much more it would be. But I'm pretty sure if you walk around the block and pick up the loose change you find that it will more than pay for your fans at high.


Seriouly though you are talking about very very small amounts.
