Careful with your tools!

Fell asleep with the grate off of my 21inch fan.

It has metal blades, My foot ended up kicking towards the fan.

Metal blade sliced through my big toenail, and into the meat underneath.

Making my own fireworks, Burned all the hair off my face and arms when it exploded in my hands. even lost an eyebrow.

Was attacked by a dog, Ripped into my shin... Had a gash all the way down to the bone so large I could stick my finger and tap on my bone [ which I did, it was cool ], Dog also went for my throat. Luckly I jerked back soon enough to avoid a punctured jugular, There was still a pretty nifty gnash, tho.

So about 2 years ago, back when I still smoked pot, I was REALLY stoned with a couple friends and was flipping a fairly dull hunting knife around. One of my friends pointed out that I'm probably gonna stab myself with it. To prove him wrong, I took the knife, tried to slit my wrist with it, no success, tried to stab myself with it (even had it pushing my skin back about 3 inches) and no success, not even a little blood. Then I took my shoe off, took my sock off, and dropped the knife blade first from above my head onto it... Here's a pic from after I took the first bandaide off.

Non Modding but I got a couple.

When I was about 3 or 4 I was chasing my Brother thru my grandmothers house. She had marble floor...she had just washed it. I slipped and slid face first into a Stone fireplace fixture. Busted my lip all the way thrua nd sent my two front teeth up INTO my gums. HAd to get braces..more on that at the bottom.

When I was 7 my Mom, Brother and I were in the kitchen making tea (we liked tea...it was like a treat) And were all working on the same counter (which my head abrley leveled with) When I reached to grab the milk..me and my brother got entangled and spilt a cup of boiling hot tea on my stomach. Know what a little kid screams when they get burnt? Fire. Went to the hospital. I was so freaked out that the Morphine didnt kick in till after we left...2nd degree burns and i had to endure them cutting off the dead skin...That hoel expierence sucked.

When I was 9, I dropped a 30lb. Barebell weight on my foot...pressure was so much it blew about a 1/8 thick by 3 inch long ciurcular section off the BOTTOM of my foot....That hurt.

When I was 12 or 13 I was riding my bike with a buddy...I noticed my chains was lose and stopped to check the tension...Pedal was raised on the right side and my leg was resting on it...my buddy rides by and kicks my legging telling me to hurry up. Leg goes forward...fingers go into chain/sproket. I was wearing Motocross gloves at the time...doctor said it was the only thing that saved the tip of my middle finger. It did crush and retract the bones in my middle finger though...so know when I write with a pen it leaves an indentation...

Had to ahve braces when I was 16 because of all the good sliding fun mentioned above. 8 teeth pulled,a nd 4 wisdoms cut out before they could start the braces (and anyone whos had braces knwo how fun they are) Anyway apparantly I was a concern for the possibility of TMJ (a abd jaw disorder) so they decided at the end of my braces run, the were going to have surgery on my jaw and align my profile) I cant rememebr the name of the procedure but its kinda icky. The cut away the lower portion of my cheecks/jaw area of skin inside my mouth. Then cut my jaw kinda in a "Z" pattern so the could lengthen it. (Thsi is on both sides of the lower mandible) Then also decide the cut my chin and lower that. I now have 13 titanium screws in my face. and numbness in my jaw/chin after almost 3 years after surgery. Ah but i learned the fun of having your very own morphine drip.

Also broke my thumb but that was no biggie.

Recently my grandfather....doing Hurrican repairs...was cuttign 2X4's ona table saw. Decided he wasnt going to pay attention....managed to cut huis thumb up pretty good. Straight down the center of the thumb...pretty deep from what i can tell in the healing...Didnt go get sticthes or anything....just put flour on it to soak up the blood (he takes aspirin for blood thinning cause he had a stroke 8 years ago) and wrapped it up and went abck to work....looks really friggin nasty and he told em its really numb. I think he has nerve damage....

Heh...got one more.

When my dad was 17 he was drlling concete with impact drill (36" bits big thing) so he's semi bent over putting pressure on it right? It kicks....lands on his foot and drills straight thru his foot. Worst part.....had to put it in reverse to get it out.....he went to see his mom...he said it was like having a soaker but blood was pumping out of his shoes....lol I laugh at that one....Surprsingly he doesnt have a huge scar...

ok, ok, ok....I have had 17 operations....hearing trouble as a kid, BMX injuries, and both knees and one shoulder have been rebuilt so far. One more shoulder is going to be done soon. Geez, are all geeks this hap hazard with thier bodies? Computer modders have more scares than football playrers!

You're a lot more likely to get injured with an object spinning around really fast then you are being covered in pads and throwing a bag of air around nonstop... which reminds me of another injury.

Back when I was like 13, I did competitive Yoyoing, I was local champ for a while, anyways, back in my prime, I could spin a yoyo at 10,000RPM, I had this all aluminum yoyo that I had been doing walk the dog with on concrete, the edges were rather rough... anyways, I was practicing Split the atom (trick where you make the yoyo sit on the string and flip around it) and the string bound up inside the yoyo against the groves inside it, the yoyo fired back off the string and nailed me in the face. I had a one inch gash all the way across my eyebrow and had to get stitches in it.

Yeah, but you had a cool cut that all the girls ooohed and aaahed over, didn't you?? LOL

I learned the hard way how NOT to cut items with a double-edged boot knife. Don't ask. Too many beers, not enough time for the common sense to kick in, before I went, "OW!!! DAMMIT!!!"

I was way up in the mountains, staying with friends at their cabin, and it was at least an hour to the nearest ER. Screw stitches, gimme a couple band-aids and another beer!! :D
