i reformatted a few months back, reinstalled everything, and installed the 5.03 folding client, and then frgot all about it.

apparently it hasnt been able to upload any results since i reformatted. obviously this wont do.

i can get new work, but not upload results. windows firewall is off, im using norton internet securities 2004, which is updated, and the folding@home client is set to permit all. im not sure what would prevent me from being able to send results. i also dont think its an issue with just my client not showing a compleated workunit number, as the log seems to show no results being able to be uploaded, also when i serch for my results on the hardfolding site,(username dahz) it looks like it shows i havnt done any work in awhile.

if anyone knows what i can do to fix this, id liek to hear it.

try creating a shortcut to the .exe and adding the flag -sendall to it. run the shortcut.

edit: and if that doesn't work, try reinstalling the .exe file

I would also suggest completely disabling NIS, as it can be flaky sometimes. If it doesn't work, try the -sendall with it NIS off as well.

well, disableing norton and the -sendall tag worked. weird though, NIS never blocked folding@home from updating before.

odd.

did disabling norton and not using the -sendall tag work?
did leaving norton on and using the -sendall tag work?

Just curious, how many WUs did that sucker send in from that few months work? Bet it kicked up the PPD.

Glad to see another machine for the [H}

Fold on fellas!

I'm not sure what NIS's major malfunction is, but in the limited dealings with, and the things I've heard people say, it seems that it is just very very inconsistent on its behavior in respect to how it blocks thing. Glad to hear you got it to work though! And a belated welcome! :D

Last week my NIS all of a sudden started blocking PunkBuster in my Enemy Territory game. ET was fine as the ingame browser showed the server list but when I connected to a PB server I would get kicked cuz PB couldnt get new security info. I disabled it and it worked fine. I uninstalled it and installed Panda Internet Security. I think NIS must have updated something PB didnt like.

You can only cashe the last ten work units.
Anymore and the next one in overwrites the first one, etc, etc.
So you'll only send in ten.

Luck....... :D
