Hey guys I cant seem to figure out why this is happening.

The max res of my Acer 22' is 1680 x 1050, but instead it only lets me choose from:

1440x900 to 1600x1200.

Does this mean the panel can actually run at 1600x1200 (which it seems to be doing), or i should try to figure out why its not running at its native max res.

Its running on a 8800GT

Is this a game yo are you trying to play it on. As some games will just let you edit the .cfg and add what resolution you need there. Need a bit more info to help though.

Just in Windows for now.

But games like COD4 and World of Warcraft dont show the res i want either.

in COD4 you have to choose a different aspect ratio in order to see the 1680x1050 resolution.

You're all missing the big problem. He is having trouble setting the resolution in Windows, nevermind in a game.

Make sure you're video drivers are up to date.

I have the same problem. But i have an old dell optiplex 170L, which i think dont have a video card, just the motherboard video output

I'd update the drivers first. If the proper resolution still isn't being offered, then the data from the monitor is not being passed, or properly interpreted by the driver. In this case you could try going to the monitor makers site and see if they offer an INF file for the monitor.
