Got a relative with a computer covered with "I-worm/nimda" according to AVG. Neither AVG, nor f-prot are able to clean or even delete the files, they are called "something something ????.eml" - in other words, randomly named with question marks in them, and the antivirus programs go retarded over it, what can I do?

You may want to try to locate the file via the windows interface, and rename it, or drag it somewhere.

If that fails, perhaps a Delete *.* if the file is alone in a directory?

Or, you may want to try in a dos prompt delete "????.eml" (with the quotes)

or, Delete *.eml and see what happens.

Norton antivurs 2005 worked thanks anyway.

I've run across several viruses that stick themselves in the restore point info or temp internet files, both of shich are protected "in use" system files, and AVG could not remove them. The viruses were easily removed though, by turning restore points off, then on again (this will cause windows to purge the restore point info from your drive) and to open up I.E. and delete your temp files.
