I am getting my refund soon and want to get something for my system. I can't decide between getting a 36GB Raptor + 2500+ Barton and the new Swiftech Heatsink or a 74GB Raptor. Either of those with the 50 Pack of DVD-R's I need to get comes out to 300. I need some advice on the Pro's and Con's cause I really can't decide. Forgot to mention my current system is not overclocked execpt the bus to 200mhz.

I'd go with the 36gb + the other junk, it sounds like the better deal. Unless you really have a need for more space than that to be accessed at high speed. I, personally, would never even use up 20 gb. But, of course, that depends on the person...

Do you have a secondary drive for storage? If so, go 2500+ and HSF with the 36gb Raptor... :D

Edit: Didn't see that you have a 2400+ already, thought it said 1700+... But still.

I'd buy another stick of DDR, but if I had too choose I go with the first package, yet I doubt you'll need a 2500+ if you already have a 2400+...Spend the money elsewhere.

Well I have enough memory, about the storage I already have a 120GB SE. I just want to buy something, you know how money is it burns a hole in your pocket. :)

Yup... I'll be blowing a couple hundred tomorrow on newegg on stuff I don't really need... But who buys stuff they need anyway? :p

You can never have enough RAM.....Get another stick of 512...You'll be the coolest kid on the block.

I don't know if I really can, well I can but it's twinx (matched pairs) So it won't work in Dual Channel if I fill up the other one.

I see...You only have three slots on that board too...

I'd weight the advantages of AMD dual channel versus a gig of RAM....

From what I've read the XPs don't really benefit from DC; thus a gig may be a better bet....Just an idea.

It'll work in dual channel w/ a gig. Just get a 512 stick or Corsair w/ the same (or better) timings. NF2 mobos usually have 3 ram slots- 2 on one channel, one on the other. So you just put the 256s in the 2 slots on the same channel.

I would get another 512 DDR, and the 36 gig Raptor.
