I have an old canon eos and eos aps, with several lense's I switch between the two of them. Are these lense's compatible with the current line of Digital Eos's?

If they are EOS lens's then they should fit any camera that can take an EOS lens. I dont think the format has changed much.

I could be wrong but that is my understanding.

From what I could find the EOS and EOS APS film cameras you are talking about are both EF mount lenses. These will fit the EF mount camera bodies such at the XS/XSi/XT/XTi/20D/30D/40D/50D. Basically they should work on any of the non-full frame digitals.

EF lenses will fit on any Canon digital camera. It's the EF-S lenses that won't work with full-frame cameras. OP, your lenses should be fine with newer bodies.

There is also an older FD mount, but the mounts are noticeably smaller..

Only full frame cameras to date are 1Ds Mark II, 1Ds Mark III, 5D Mark I, 5D Mark II, and of course film cameras.

You forgot the 1st 1Ds and Kodak DCS Pro SLR/c

Damn, I thought the 1Ds still had some sort of crop factor..

All the EF lenses will mount on all the current Canon cameras. EF-S are digital only lenses that just started coming out a few years ago and only work on the consumer and prosumer digital SLRs (Rebel Series and XXD series besides the 10D).

FD are fully manual lenses (besides 4 rare ones) that will not work on EF. They are quite a bit older for the most part though as well.

Canon's mount history is pretty easy to follow and everything in each model range works together (all EF bodies work with EF lenses, all FD with FD, etc.)

From oldest to newest:
R (not used for very long)
FL
FD
EF/EF-S

Nope, the 1D did, but the "s" versions of the 1D line always are full frame.
