Hello,
After reading many of the positives posts here about the NEC 20wmgx2, I recently purchased one. I'm at a loss of how to install drivers for it to run at 1680x1050. I'm currently running at 1600x1200, but it is just off....
I've downloaded the ICC drivers from NECdisplay.com and those seem to be for Photoshop's use or something. They do not allow me to switch from "Generic Non-PnP Driver" to the NEC monitor.
The n20wmgx2.inf file that came in the same .zip as the ICC drivers gives me the error: "The inf file you selected does not support this method of installation". I believe it is due to me running on a 64-bit system rather than 32. This is in Windows 7 x64, btw. Is there a way I can modify the file to install to 64-bit?

Please help me find drivers that work. I really want this display to work excellent without having to revert to 32-bit...:(
Thank you!

problem resolved.

No help at all? :( I thought the amount of monitor enthusiasts on this forum would have some knowledge into this matter....
Could it be that I am using VGA that I'm not allowed to change the res. to 1680x1050?

problem resolved.

Well, I originally thought I resolved it by creating a custom profile using Nvidia's control panel. However, I still couldn't choose the res in the drop-down menu. I had to go to the advanced settings and select List All Display Modes. I then found the custom profile for the res, highlighted it, and clicked OK.

That still did not install the driver for the monitor, though. So, I found my fault in trying to install the driver manually was having the installation wizard browse to the directory where the .INF file was located. It will not find it like that apparently.... To fix it, I selected Have Disk and specified the file. From there it is self-explanatory. =]
NEC's automated monitor driver installer program didn't help at all.
