Can you run Ruby on nvidia cards?

it probably wouldnt run very well but.. why dont you try it?

edit: im downloading it right now. ill let you know how it goes.

Nope, it wont run on an nVidia card. I'm sure you could tweak it to do so, but probably not.

Conversely, do nVidia demos run on ATi cards?

The older D3D ones do, but all newer nvidia demos use OpenGL and make calls that only nvidia drivers have AFAIK.

There was a wrapper to run the NVIDIA Dawn demo on Radeon 9500 and up.
Ironically enough the 9700Pro ran Dawn way better than the 5800Ultra.

There are also wrappers around to run Ruby on Radeon 9500 and up, and to run it on GeForce. I never managed to get it running on a 6800 though.

Sounds like a lot of effort to get a demo to run. Good luck to the OP. I just can't care enough about the demo. The only demo I ever liked anyway was that Galleon demo for the 6800. I don't remember what it's called.

Well I ran ruby on a 9600XT so I figured my 6800GT could handle it. :p

Meh, I can't even run Nalu on my 6800! It runs, but about .5fps. Never figured out why, but it does it on several different motherboards. Everything else works, gamewise and all, so I don't really care about it.

I ran the Ruby demo on my 6800GT a few months back with the wrapper I found on NVnews.net....... so yes it can be done.
