Can you help me find this part?

My beloved Toshiba 16x DVD-ROM (SD-M1612) just died on me a couple days ago. I'm not the kind of person to throw something out when it dies or replace it with a new one so I am trying to repair it. I've come to the conclusion that this part has died PDF datasheet it's a mitsubishi M63015FP. Problem is that I haven't found where I can get it from. I've tried mouser, arrow, and digikey but they don't seem to have it. Any help?

That's not a very common part. You could always call up Mitsubishi and ask for a list of their chip distibutors. You might only get people looking to move 1000+ parts, though.

Nobody distributes that part, only Mitsubishi themselves... according to my friend that works in the company purchasing department

You *could* get 2500 of them for about 38 cents each..

Time to buy a new DVD drive, I'm afraid.

maybe some one around here has a dead SD-M1612 with a different problem than mine that they would be willing to part with so I could scavange the part?
