can LCD monitors do true 75 hz?

is regular dvi connected LCD monitors able to run true 75 hz?

That is an old article from 2006, and a lot of what they said about what was coming turned out not to happen.

A few HardOCP posters (particularly ToastyX) have found that the Dell 2209WA and the NEC EA231WMi are able to be tweaked with custom resolutions to run at 75Hz or more. I think there's one or two other monitors that can do it but I can't remember which ones.

Figuring out how to tweak any given LCD monitor to do that requires more knowledge about low-level monitor settings than I have. Don't experiment with those kinds of settings if you don't know what you're doing.
